Upon graduating from Boston College with a degree in History and Italian Matt was faced with a stark career choice: deliver pizzas into historic neighborhoods, or leverage his written communications skills to move people to action. Luckily, he chose the latter. He began his career at Team Soapbox, a Seattle-based public relations firm, working to raise awareness for issues such as increased access to health care, improving developing countries’ ability to battle disease and promoting the benefits of enhanced driver education curriculum.
His stint as a PR guy helped Matt hone his skills developing distinct message platforms to specific target audiences, a skill-set that translates well to his current position at Hunt Marketing Group. Writing effective marketing copy is in many ways similar to pitching a reporter. You must quickly and effectively introduce the reader to your product, tell them why they should be interested, and inform them of what action they should take next.
